Roller Hearth (Heavy Duty Applications)
Therser Wellman supply both gas-fired and electrically heated Roller Furnaces, suitable for a wide range of industrial applications and over a wide range of load shapes and sizes.
This furnace concept offers a continuous product processing line, with entry and exit doors at either end of the furnace. A continuous bed of high temperature rollers, driven by individual motors or ganged chain drives, moves the product along the furnace and through the required heating profile specific to the product requirements. Given the Heavy Duty nature of the products being processed the rollers are normally manufactured in a temperature stable Nickel/Chrome alloy spun cast material.
The Heavy Duty design concept is suitable for large raw material and product heat treatment including heavy plate, bar, rod and profiles. Typical furnace widths of 3.5 metres and furnace lengths of 60 metres have been provided previously.
Typical applications include Annealing, normalising, hardening, tempering and stress relieving of plate, strip, tube, bar, rod, wire coils,
In addition to the furnace, downstream processes such as air-blast cooling and water quench can also be provided.
These can be applied with protective/reactive atmospheres to prevent oxidization (In process) or enhance metallurgical properties within parts. All of our robust and energy efficient furnace designs would be built around your process requirements/needs to give a solution tailored to getting the best out of your process.
