Lift Off Furnace (Top Hat)
Therser Wellman supply both gas-fired and electrically heated Lift Off “Top Hat” furnaces, suitable for a wide range of industrial applications and over a wide range of load shapes and sizes.
The Lift Off “Top Hat” furnace is typically used with cylindrical products, such as steel strip coils or wire coils. It lends itself very well to a vertical stack loading arrangement and generally uses an inner retort to maintain protective atmospheres around the product. Square lift off furnaces are also available depending on product shape.
Multiple load bases and common “heating hoods” mean that load bases can be pre-loaded whilst an adjacent base is already in process and then following process completion on the adjacent load base the common heating hood is simply moved across to the pre-loaded base to start the process on the new load. Optimising process output capability/speed as required.
Cooling hoods can also be supplied to replace heating hoods at a certain point in the process to affect a forced cooling of the product within the retort.
Most are applied with protective/reactive atmospheres to prevent oxidization (In process) or enhance metallurgical properties within parts.
Typical applications include all types of heat treatment processes in raw materials or component parts and in particular annealing and bright annealing.
Our Bogie Hearth Furnaces can also be designed to meet the high performance demands within thermal processing standards such as AMS 2750G, GE and Rolls Royce standards, to name a few.
All of our robust and energy efficient furnace designs would be built around your process requirements/needs to give a solution tailored to getting the best out of your process.
