Drayton Beaumont history
Kilnconstruct Ltd. was founded originally in 1985. Following steady growth in the design and manufacture of kilns, the company was renamed. The core expertise was initially intermittent kilns, but the consequent development of the activities soon led to the construction of continuous kilns as well. The focus on the domestic market was broadened in the 1990s towards international markets. Looking for new avenues of expression, Chairman Jack Beaumont naturally became interested in a liaison with Drayton, as the many synergies were obvious. Drayton, which was founded in 1965, offered a well-established network on a global scale and long experience in the manufacturing of continuous kilns, two important factors for merging the activities of the two players. There was no risk that the philosophy and the existing activities of Jack Beaumont Exports Ltd. with regard to quality, service and product range would be jeopardized. Drayton Beaumont Kilns Ltd. was founded in July 2002 at the former Drayton works, forming Britain's largest kiln building company.
